A foreign government was out to get you, but you didn=t know who or why?

 

A leprechaun suddenly rounded the corner of your desk and began talking to you?

 

A man used so many nanites that he became a cyborg?

 

A man went across country searching to Afind America@?  What does he find, and what does he decide America is?  What if it is a woman instead of a man?

 

A meteor fell in your backyard?

 

A space traveler is living in the past by pacing old radio and t.v. communications from the past as they move out into space?

 

A spy was elected pope?

 

All the magnets on Earth began losing their cohesion?  What would we do?  What would some alternatives be?

 

All your hair fell out?

 

An orange tree suddenly sprang up in your back yard?

 

Cecil Adams was part of a secret cabal planning on taking over the world?

 

Diamonds became the key components in computer technology?

 

Everybody was ordered to be different?

 

In a society of telepaths, what if you had an unreadable mind?  What if you could still read other=s minds?  What if they could read yours but you couldn=t read theirs?  What if you had no control over your thoughts like others did?

 

James Bond found his new enemy was the new AM@?

 

Kennedy@ had been assassinated because the real JFK had died months earlier?

 

Merlin was still alive today?  What would he be doing, and why?

 

Reality began changing around you?  How would it change, and what could you do about it?

 

Some group rose to challenge the extreme environmentalists?  What kind of group would they be, and how would they get their point across?

 

 

Someone came up to you, said they knew you, and began telling you about your time together?  What if you had no recollection?  What if you did, but that person had changed drastically over the years?

 

Someone was totally repugnant?

 

Suddenly you found the truth behind Athe Conspiracy,@ and it was utterly ridiculous?  Still, the sucker=s got to be stopped.  How do you deal with all the weirdos and bring the light of day unto the darkened shroud of secrecy?

 

The drivel that you write suddenly turned into golden prose?

 

The entire planet was a hoax, a futuristic simulation to protect us (or get rid of us), on some giant planet (or some such)?

 

The poultry industry decided to take over the U.S. government?

 

The president went insane?

 

The reality you were in constantly changed?  How would you get it stable?  Why is it happening?  Would there be anything else constant in your reality?

 

The world coffee crop was destroyed?

 

There was a global communications system, to every person?  How could you get any privacy?  How would this system best be carried out?

 

There was someone Afollowing@ you that only you could see; it=s like they disappeared any time anyone else came around?  Are you going nuts, is someone spying on you, or is it more mysterious (or sinister) than that?

 

There was something called Athe Reactor@?

 

What if all you wanted to do was live in a prison?  What would you do to get in?  What would you do when you got there?

 

You abducted someone?  Why would you, and who?  How would you react, and what would finally happen?

 

You accidentally swallowed a priceless diamond?

 

You always nearly missed being in accidents?  How would that affect your view on life?  What about the people around you?  Would you use this as a Acrutch?@  What if it didn=t work once?

 

You could Aget things@ for people?  What kind of trouble could you get into? 

 

You could always tell, just by looking, the gender of an unborn baby?

 

You could cook the magic pizza?  One that would make people fall in love, repent of their sins, and otherwise turn around for the good?  What kind of pizza parlor would you run?

 

You could fulfill a person=s desires?

 

You could see at the microscopic level?  How would you deal with the fact that you can see all of the little microscopic organisms in your food and water?

 

You discovered buried treasure on a Caribbean island, but a modern band of pirates (maybe drug runners) are after the said treasure as well?

 

You found irrefutable proof that the Chinese, or the Vikings, or whoever, explored America centuries before Columbus and the Spaniards got here?

 

You found out the awful truth about someone that was dead, that everyone considered to be a hero?  Would you tell, or would you keep it a secret? 

 

You had a computer system that could read your thoughts?  How could this be used to catch you in a crime?

 

You had a story based in Atlantis before its destruction, and how Atlantis interacted with the rest of the world?  How (if you did) would you deal with the destruction of that culture?  Would the people escape, and if so what would they do?  (It could in some ways be similar to what happened after Tolkien=s destruction of Tol Eresea in the Silmarillion; the remnants became petty kings in the rest of the world.)

 

You had amnesia, and someone was leaving little tidbits of information about yourself in your path, leading you to some goal?  What if not all the information is correct, and you are being set up to take the fall for some crime?

 

You had Ax-ray@ vision - you could see through walls or anything else?  How and when would you use this ability?  Go to work for the government, you say?  What if those around you knew you had this ability?  Would this make you a target of abuse or death?

 

You had proof that the world was about to explode?

 

You had the real gloves that should have been in the O.J. Simpson trial?  What would be the story of them coming into your possession?  What if you had the Asmoking gun@ evidence for a very important trial, and you couldn=t decide whether to bring that out or not?  You would have to deal with all the positive and negative reprocussions.

 

You kept living the same day over and over?  What would you do?

 

You kept nearly getting hit by falling objects?

 

You knew the location of billions of dollars in gold bullion, and someone announced that you knew that information on live television?

 

You lost everything (assuming you were wealthy) and you had to start over at rock bottom?  What would you do?  What different kinds of reactions might you have?

 

You ran a restaurant, and you found a hated restaurant critic dead in the kitchen?  Picture Dom DeLouise as the chef.

 

You really did have an evil eye?

 

You started a new fad?  How would that change your life?  What would life be like after the fad was over?  What happens to you when whatever it is takes a life of its own?

 

You told the story of the Sioux through the eyes of a young warrior who wanted peace?

 

You were a famous beauty, but your beauty was destroyed?

 

You were a guy, without any clothes save a woman's dress, in a hotel dressing room?

 

You were a movie (or t.v.) actor, and a fan got reality and fantasy mixed up and began expecting you to be your famous character?  How can this get bad?

 

You were a nonconformist in a conformist place?

 

You were a normal person in a world of super-heros?

 

You were a young child in the early nineteenth century, and your parents suddenly decided to move west?  What if you didn=t want to go?

 

You were an astronaut, and when you returned to earth, everything was subtly changed?  How would you and your team respond to this?  What would you do?  What could you do?

 

You were being chased by an insane chef wielding a big butcher knife?

 

You were in a segment of society that became ostracized, when you had formerly been equal, or greater, than all the others?  How would you react?  What would have caused this type of change?  What are the consequences of this change?  Would the former minority be vindictive or more tolerant?

 

 

You were in the witness relocation program, your cover was blown, and now the bad guys are after you?  What if it was the FBI themselves who blew your cover?  What if it was the CIA?

 

You were innocent of some crime, but the accused escaped from jail, publicly said you were guilty, and began hunting you down?

 

You were made responsible for the President=s life when he was under great danger?  Assume, of course, that you are average Joe, minding your own business.

 

You were on the Committee, the secret group that really ran, of at least managed, the U.S. government, media, foreign relations, and so on?  What if you weren=t on it - you were a target of it?  Who could fight this Committee?  Since they didn=t directly control everything, what types of Aautonomous@ action could be brought against them?

 

You were slowly turning into a cat?

 

You were the only sighted person in a society of the blind?  Or hearing in a society of the deaf?

 

You were under surveillance by the CIA?

 

You wrote a book about a brave group of terraformers?

 

You wrote a novel about a Civil War spy?  What if he was Akept on@ (or Arecruited@) by the government after the war?

 

You wrote a novel based on the Dutch tulip mania?

 

You wrote a story about the aftermath of a violent (teen?)  murder in a small Southern town?

 

You wrote an adventure about a girl on some Caribbean island, on the run from the bad guys?

 

You, as a parent, were charged with child abuse even though you and your child denied it?  What if you lost custody of your children?

 

Your computer fell in love with you?  You can tell, because it automatically begins anticipating things you want, when you want them, etc.

 

Your computer was Abugged@ by the FBI (or by anyone)?

 

Your earring held a secret transmitter?  How could you use this to your advantage?

 

Your wife died, and you totally left your old life, starting over in a far-away place as something totally different?  How do the people around you react with elements of your old life begin to resurface?
