The Idea Lounge
Where all the cool ideas hang out
If you're stuck for a story idea and need some help, you've come
to the right place. Hi, my name is
Brian, and I want to welcome you to the Idea Lounge. In the links below you'll find hundreds of ideas,
thought-starters, and in general a lot of story-provoking weirdness. Sure, there are some duplicates, and sure
some of the ideas have (apparently) been used (what can I say, this list is
several years old), but writing is all about theft! Click away, and check back often for updates and even more new
ideas.
Do you have an idea you'd like to share with others? Send them to me, and I'll be setting up a
link just for visitor's ideas. The more
we share, the more there will be for everyone! Also, try the "what if" game for yourself. Start with the phrase "what if,"
and make up as wild and crazy endings to that as possible. You'll be surprised (and pleased, or maybe
even horrified) what you come up with!
A note on usage. By virtue
of my posting them on the web, this material is copywrited. However, I want you to feel free to use
these ideas in any way you see fit. All
I ask is that you email me and let me know what idea you're using, and to what
end, just to satisfy my personal curiosity.
If you turn this into a multi-million dollar movie, on the other hand, I
do expect to see my name in the credits!!
